Thousands of measurements have been made since our official campaign start on 1 September. We thank you all for participating with enthusiasm!

With another three weeks to go, days with sunny, blue, and cloud-free skies are still ahead. Living in one of our eleven participating cities but did not pick up your iSPEX add-on or try it out yet? You can still join and help us obtain a clearer picture of your city.

During the Weekend of Light from Friday 25th to Monday 28th September there will be a spectacular series of events taking place worldwide –from festivities and light exhibitions to public lectures by scientists and others working in photonics. Not in the least because tonight’s European Researchers Night is part of this, we are inviting all of you to join a challenge for the next days.

Let’s see if, together, we can turn our smartphones to the skies this weekend and reach for 1000 iSPEX measurements in each city

Why? The more iSPEX measurements are taken in a short period of time, the more accurate the map of aerosol information of your city we can obtain.

How to join? We, the iSPEX-EU team, will be on top of the latest weather forecasts for sunny cloud-free skies and share these each evening and morning via our twitter account @ispex_eu, along with tips for measuring. So, make sure to follow us there!

Cloud-free skies expected for the day? We invite you to scan the sky with iSPEX once in the morning, 7-11 am, and once late afternoon, early evening, 4-8 pm local summer time (see also our measurement guidelines). Want to take more measurements that just two a day? You are much welcomed to do so and add to an even clear picture of your city.

No cloud-free skies over this weekend? The challenge remains.. for the first cloud-free day occurring in your city.

We are ready for One Thousand in the Weekend of Light. Are you?
